Greece to Hold 1st Hydrogen, Green Gases Forum in June

Greece will host the 1st Hydrogen and Green Gases Forum, which is an energy press event constituting the country’s only forum to comprehensively cover green gas and hydrogen. The event is scheduled to take place at the Wyndham Grand Athens Hotel on June 23rd, Energy Press reported.

The event will witness the participation of 46 leading speakers and coordinators and will be launched by the Greek Minister of Energy Pantelis Kapros, who also served as a president of the National Hydrogen Committee.   

Speakers at the forum will include Yannis Xifaras, Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport; Alexandra Sdoukou, Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment; Maria Spyraki and Nikos Papandreou, both Members of the European Parliament; Maria Georgiadou, Senior Expert European Commission DG Research & Innovation; George Hatziimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe; Melissa Verykios, president at Clean Hydrogen Partnership; Konstantinos Papaloukas, Coordinator of the National Hydrogen Committee of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources; and Andreas Poullikkas, President of the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority. Speakers will also include Nikolaos Lyberopoulos, Project Officer at Clean Hydrogen Partnership; Dimitris Lyridis, Professor of Naval Engineering, NTUA – Director of the Marine Transport Laboratory; Sotiris Karellas, Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the energy ministry’s technical adviser on biomethane; Antonis Metaxas, Assoc. Professor of EU Law, University of Athens; Alexandros Yfantis, President of the Hellenic Association of Biogas Producers; Manos Stamatakis, Researcher at the Institute of Geoenergy; Nektaria Karakatsani, energy ministry adviser; and Nikos Davos, from the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia (CLuBE).
