Egypt’s EETC, Jan De Nul Receive Electricity Export Project Approval

The Egyptian government granted approval to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) and Belgium’s Jan De Nul for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on electricity export to Europe, SolarQuarter reported.
The two companies are set to prepare studies for the project that aims to export renewable energy-generated electricity to Europe through a Mediterranean Sea route.
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly expressed his country’s strategic interest in the project, pointing out Egypt’s ambitious plans to deliver marine electricity transmission lines to several countries in Europe.
Madbouly’s statement came during his visit to Brussels for attending the EU’s Global Gateway Forum.
